The W.S. Sherrill Waterfowl Hunting Club hunts from the Eagle Lake Prairie extending south to the coast; controlling 50,000 plus privately owned acres. We pump hundreds of acres of water on these properties, further enhancing our success potential. We hold enormous concentrations of Snow Geese, Canadian Geese, and Whitefront Geese. We also hold exceptional duck numbers, hunting primarily Pintail, Widgeon, Teal, Gadwald, Wood Duck, and Black Duck. We are extremely interested in your hunt's success. In the past nineteen years we have taken over three thousand one hundred guided hunts (over 12,000 hunters) with a success ratio (birds taken per hunt) that is the highest of any Hunting club on the Texas Gulf Coast. Water is the number one key to successful Waterfowling; the more water, the more waterfowl. Levee work and pumped water are expensive but well worth the cost. This year we plan to establish twenty-nine roosts, ranging in size from ten to one hundred acres. These waters set our operation apart from the rest, by giving us the potential of holding large concentrations of waterfowl. (Sometimes numbering 150,000 birds and more), on our properties, from the beginning of the season until the end. Last year approximately one half of the roosts on the Eagle Lake Prairie belonged to our Club.
